The first step to get in PlanetSide 2 is to create a character and select a faction from three empires: Vanu Sovereignty, New Conglomerate and Terran Republic. As the in-game character is usually represented in first person or from the back and he/she uses a helmet, facial features were not relevant for the character. The goal of this part of the game was to have a intuitive and simple process that allow players to get in game quickly.
